Ayman Waked

Ayman Waked, Head of Trading and Technical Portfolio Management, joined Beltone Asset Management in 2008. Mr. Waked is a member of the equity investment committee, providing input on market momentum. In addition, Mr. Waked advises the equity portfolio managers on entry and exit levels. Prior to joining Beltone Financial, Mr. Waked held various posts at a number of prominent investment banks. He has more than a decade of experience in the field and his most recent three-year tenure at EFG-Hermes saw him take on the position of Chief Technical Analyst at the regional investment bank. Mr. Waked has also worked for SIGMA Capital and Momentum Wavers, as Chief Technical Analyst. Mr. Waked is a Certified Financial Technician CFTe since 2001 and holds a Masters Degree in Financial Technical Analysis MFTA from the International Federation of Technical Analysts IFTA. In 2008, he was elected to the office of vice president and board member at International Federation of Technical Analysts IFTA for the ME-Africa region. He was also the president of the Egyptian Society of Technical Analysts ESTA from 2002 to 2008.

In the field of academics, Mr. Waked teaches at several respectable institutions. He has been the technical analysis teaching at the American University in Cairo's Institute of Banking and Finance since 2004. He also teaches part of the Portfolio Management Course at the Egyptian Banking Institute since 2008. From 2006 to 2007 Mr. Waked was the technical analysis instructor for the Libyan Capital Market Authority. In addition, Mr. Waked instructs at Cairo University (Faculty of Economics and Political Science) and delivers several lectures and seminars throughout the Arab region. Mr. Waked was a guest speaker at Bloomberg's Egypt Day, held in Egypt in 2009.
 
In 2008, Mr. Waked presented an educational program about Technical Analysis which was broadcast via satellite across the region.  The program consisted of 30 episodes, 45 minutes each.




Omar Shams

MSTA member of the trading desk at Beltone Asset Management, a division of Beltone Financial. Mr. Shams’s responsibilities include analyzing various equity markets, sectors and securities listed on stock exchanges in the MENA region to assist in the timing of the execution of the trades and entry/exit levels. Mr. Shams is also responsible for proposing to fund managers attractive securities ideas for short and long term trading opportunities based on a diverse range of technical analysis tools.

Formally, Mr. Shams was an Account Officer at Commercial International Brokerage Company (CIBC). He managed local and GCC portfolios, through handling the purchase and sales of equities, generating trading ideas for clients and attracting new clients to the brokerage department.

Mr. Shams heads the marketing committee of the Egyptian Society of Technical Analysts (ESTA). He also completed all three levels of the ESTA program and is currently a member of the education committee where he is a technical analysis instructor. During his service as an instructor for ESTA in the past three years, Mr. Shams has lectured in several universities across Egypt including Cairo University, Assiut University and Alexandria University as well as several specialized conferences.

Mr. Shams also succeeded in completing the Society of Technical Analysts Diploma (STA) in 2009, becoming a member of the London-based society.
